Cranfield Aviation Training most recent training addition is remote pilot license training for drones. The training school already offers over 80 courses and certifies over 6000 students per year. To ensure its longevity as a provider of training in aviation it needed to meet the demands of the new learner and therefore embarked on a search for an e-learning platform that was feature rich yet cost-effective. The company selected aNewSpring, an e-learning platform that caters for mobile and social peer-to-peer interaction as well as the ability to create and deliver blended learning. While the classroom element will not disappear completely, especially when it comes to courses that have a practical component, learners want the flexibility and convenience that anywhere, anytime learning provides. The South African Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has given Cranfield Aviation the initial go-ahead to put six of its courses on the e-learning platform. The training provider feel confident that once the CAA see the results and benefits that online learning provides, approval for other non-practical courses will follow.
