Call for papers: Cigré regional conference 2019

Cigré has announced that its nineth Southern African regional conference, with the theme “Sustainable Integration of Distributed Energy Resources for Power System Development”, will be held from 1 to 4 October 2019 at Misty Hills Country Hotel, Conference Centre & Spa, in Muldersdrift, Gauteng.

A call has gone out for papers related to the application of distributed energy resources and microgrids across all study committees. Preference will be given to submissions in the fields of technology, planning, operations and markets as well as actual project and operational experience with focus on the following subjects:

  • Integration on DER within transmission and distribution networks
  • Energy storage technologies
  • Regional interconnections solutions
  • Electricity infrastructure resilience
  • Impact of distributed generation on existing equipment performance
  • Impact of distributed generation on power system protection schemes
  • Improvements in electricity access in Africa and developing countries
  • Environmental impact of the deployment of DER and microgrids
  • Cybersecurity
  • Telecommunications
