The Occupational Health and Safety Act dictates that property owners be in possession of valid Certificates of Compliance (CoC). According to the act, the owner must, upon selling the property, provide the purchaser with a valid CoC on the date of registration of transfer. The seller is free to instruct a registered electrical contractor to issue the CoC.

Chris Koen, the ECA(SA)’s regional director for the Highveld region, presented a CoC course at the Pretoria branch offices on 24 July 2017. Attending the course were (front) Chris Bezuidenhout; Mahlodi Malema; (second row) Sam Chauke; Michael Sales; Ignatius Calitz; (back) Chris Koen (presenter); Andre Crafford; Christian Stone; Christo Ries and Morne Pretorius.

To find out more about the ECA(SA)’s CoC courses, contact Rika Nel on 012 342-3242 or Leola Petersen at the Highveld office on 011 392-0000.
