Conference to focus on GIS in the Eastern Cape

GISSA Eastern Cape will be holding their annual general meeting and conference from 30 to 31 October 2013 at the Fishriver Sun Resort. The Eastern Cape Province faces numerous challenges in terms of service delivery, poverty and unemployment, and GIS can be used to address these challenges. Delegates are invited to attend the GISSA Eastern Cape AGM and Conference to see how GIS is implemented within the province and how GIS and spatial data can improve service delivery.

Some of the topics being covered at the conference include: GIS technology implementation and projects; data assembly and collection; GIS initiatives; using GIS towards service delivery; government spheres utilisation; and education towards registration. Delegates can earn 1 CPD point for attending the conference.

Registration for paid up GISSA members is R850 and registration for non-GISSA members is R1250. Exhibitors are also invited to participate at the conference at a cost of R5000. The closing date for registration is 30 September 2013.
