The ECA(SA) training centre at Meadowdale has presented a construction electrical trade test; two electric fence installation courses and a Certificate of Compliance course.

Construction electrician trade test

Two groups of trainees working towards their Construction Electrician trade at the training centre at Meadowdale completed their courses (Modules 0 to 3 and Modules 4 to 6), on 28 July 2017. The trainees were (in front): John Mamabolo; Livhuwani Nemuthengame; Abraham Molefe; Petros Legodi; Preshalan Vengasamy; Ruan Brits; (back) Thato Mosia; Edgar Nyamane; Danie Venter; Jeffrey Jack; Mozikayifane Tyelentombi; Kieron Lux; Alex Madia; Gielie Oosthuizen; Lucky Matcheke and Heinrich de Lange.

Electric fence refresher installer course

Frans Swanepoel presented the Electric Fence Installer refresher course at the Meadowdale training centre on 17 August 2017. The delegates were (in front): Louis Prinsloo (PEC); Gert de Bruin (Vula Energy); Peter Karam (PEC); Willem Pretorius (WA Pretorius Elektries); (middle) Johan Engelbrecht (Mkateka Elektries); Conrad Koen (Road Lab); Riaan du Bruyn (Prinsloo Elektries); Tammy Ngwenyama (Mnolazi Electrical); (back) Victor Ngoasheng (Tshepho Electrical); Frans Swanepoel (course presenter); and Juan Goncalves (Electrical Connection).

The next Electric Fence Installer course will be held at Meadowdale from 13 to 15 September 2017. The Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA) has given the ECA accreditation for electrical fence training. The course covers electric fence installation and inspection, as well as testing of a single-phase domestic installation, testing and inspection of 3-phase industrial and commercial installations, configuration of an installation, and determination of installation requirements. ECA national director Mark Mfikoe says that this is “an opportunity for members to offer clients an extra service and to access another source of income for their businesses”. Members can undergo training at a discounted rate. This course is also available to non-members at competitive rates. Certificate of compliance course

The Meadowdale training centre has presented another Certificate of Compliance course on 17 August 2017. The course was presented by Patrick Tanski of Three-D Agencies. Delegates at the course were, back, Chris Koen, Highveld regional director; Louis Pieterse; Muzikunotha Ndawonde; Tshembhani Bila and Kobus van Zyl. In the middle are Jabulani Ndhlovu; Tebogo Mootketsi; Paapane Rakgoale; course presenter Patrick Tanski. In front are Johannes Symens; Phillip Mondlane; Job Mngomezulu and Delmaine Fred.

The next course will be presented at Meadowdale on 20 September 2017. The cost for this course is R1380 per person for members and R2010 per person for non-members. Electric fence installer course

Another successful Electric Fence Installer Course was held at the ECA this week. Attending the course were, in front, Jean Barnard, Open Sky Electrical; Mafatshe Bapela, Mankwane Trends; Pagane Ramoloto, Ramoloto Electrical and Vincent Gerber, St. Kilda Projects. In the middle are Daniel Tlou, RO-AL; Mornè Joubert, /Vyfsterelektries; Frans Swanepoel, Hoëlveldrif Electrical and Glenn Pauli, Sterling Solutions. At the back are Tiseltso Ntloedibe and Sekgeme Ramushu from RO-AL; course presenter Chris Koen and Emmanuel Chau (private).
