Customisable streaming service adds new maps

The latest release of East View Geospatial’s MapVault, a streaming service that brings together maps from around the world, provides access to more than 500 000 georeferenced map sheets from over 1000 authoritative map series, saving organisations the costs of procuring, storing and digitising physical maps. The collection includes topographic, aeronautical, nautical and geological map series sourced from international mapping agencies. Each series has been seamlessly mosaicked for easy navigation. Metadata along with series index maps and individual sheet-level metadata eases finding and citing maps. New map series are added to platform on a regular basis and subscriptions are customisable. Users can choose to subscribe to the series that cover their areas of interest, or select from multiple regional package options. The data can be accessed over the internet or through any WMTS connection, or downloaded as layer files formatted specifically for ArcGIS Desktop, QGIS, Global Mapper or other open-source GIS packages. Users can also contact the company about adding their own mapping resources to the platform.
