Educational opportunities for GEOINT community

The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) has partnered with Boundless to collaborate on educational initiatives in the geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) Community as well as to offer open-source resources to colleges and universities under the Foundation’s Collegiate Accreditation Program. The two organisations are dedicated to supporting each other’s educational missions through events and educational programming. Boundless will provide an educational support package, which includes training materials and technical support, to the four online-only, USGIF-accredited GEOINT programmes. Additionally, both will provide all 14 USGIF-accredited colleges and universities with access to Boundless data and training guides to complement the software and support open-source learning. Through this partnership, students and faculty will be able to apply open-source GIS resources for classroom instruction and research. The USGIF wants students to learn in software agnostic environments, which is why it partners with both proprietary and open-source providers to help its accredited schools create forward-looking and innovative learning environments.
