Flameproof symposium announced

The South African Flameproof Association (SAFA) annual symposium will be held on Thursday, 24 May 2018 at Emperors Palace, Kempton Park, Gauteng. The theme of this year’s symposium is “New concepts for high-tech hazardous areas” and the aim is to share knowledge and information on explosion prevention. The event will be CPD accredited. 

The SAFA Awards Dinner 2018 will be hosted on Wednesday, 23 May 2018. This event will also celebrate the winners of this year’s SAFA Awards of Excellence.

Papers to be presented will include “New technology, communication and networking in hazardous areas”; “Mines and the future of digtalisation” and “Digital transformation on petrochemical plants and underground coal mines”, as well as a panel discussion on “New concepts for high-tech hazardous areas”.

SAFA is a non-profit association of companies involved in the explosion prevention and protection techniques for equipment used in hazardous atmospheres in industry and mining. It comprises almost 200 member companies which include end-users and manufactures, as well as relevant government bodies and testing houses. The association has branches in Gauteng (Johannesburg), KwaZulu-Natal (Durban) and Western Cape (Cape Town).
