Driving to and from its offices in Nooitgedacht near Muldersdrift, the staff of EE Publishers have in recent days been amazed and impressed with the surprisingly fast development of a new crèche springing up virtually on its doorstep.

The Ikusasa crèche was launched on 18 October 2014. Many joyful tears were cried and even more smiles shared. The project is the result of a collaboration between the Netherlands group Lumahelpt and the NG Muldersdrift church’s Ikusasa Foundation.

Attending the launch were the Lumahelpt volunteers and church members who helped in the construction of the crèche, as well as the crèche’s new pupils and their parents. The launch was celebrated with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and a flag change, in which The Netherlands flag was taken down and the new Ikusasa flag flown.

Reverend Kenneth McKenzie thanked Lumahelpt for their support and expressed the church’s gratitude to everyone who has offered their help in making this project a reality and contributed to building a better future. Lumahelpt’s Lucie Kallewaard said that Lumahelpt now hands the school over to its new occupants, and wishes the school staff and learners good luck.
