L-Series MVE soft starter
A dedicated MV laboratory with full manufacturing and on-site testing provides selectable voltage sources from 2,3 to 13,8 kV pump load, electronically controlled test load and synchronous motor testing capabilities. AuCom’s MV testing routine guarantees safe, reliable products. This process involves functional testing of each phase arm and of each 3-phase arm block; dielectric testing; testing of all logic controls and a full operational test.
Take control from the start
The L-Series MVE includes real-language feedback messages, so there’s no need to look up codes. Built-in monitoring and indicators and extensive on-board input and output functionalities save space and avoid the cost of auxiliary equipment while simplifying installation.
Real-time graphs of motor performance illustrate exactly how your motor is performing. The MVE controller features simple, plain language feedback on the soft starter’s operation and events.

Panel details
L-Series MVE panels are available in either IP4X or IP54, with options for line and bypass devices, earthing and isolation switches. AuCom can also design and build panels to meet particular specifications and offers full application engineering support at all stages of the design process.
For customers who prefer to build their own panels, MVE soft starters can be supplied in IP00 format or as kits for local assembly. Multi-motor solutions are also available for coordinated control of up to four motors. These include pressure blast flap; LV compartment; interlock mechanism; MV protection fuses and soft starter power assemblies; earth bar; internal cable duct; MVE current transformers; line and bypass switching devices; disconnect/earth switch and a viewing window.
Fully type tested
AuCom L-Series panels are type tested to IEC 62271-200, including short time and peak withstand current; internal arc fault; dielectric test on main and auxiliary circuits; IP rating and temperature rise related to 50°C ambient, and main circuit resistance arc fault.
L-Series arc fault protection
Arc faults in AuCom L-Series panels are contained by solid locking doors and heavy double layer compartment panels. During the emission phase, the pressure is safely released by discharge flaps on top of the panel (or optional ducts), which direct the explosion upwards or vent it safely outside.
AuCom has been producing type tested MV panels for more than ten years and put them to the test in some of the world’s most demanding applications. You can have confidence in the safety of the L-Series MVE right from the start.
Even safer with IBT technology
AuCom Interface Board Technology (IBT), a unique concept within the MV soft starter market, separates the core starter control system (including the starter’s HMI and complex, time-critical algorithmic processing) from the MV power section.
Galvanic isolation
The interface board is located in a separate, dedicated section of the internal arc tested MV compartment. Fibre-optics eliminate copper wiring and provide galvanic isolation of the LV compartment.
