New version BIM software introduced

Graphisoft, a creator of building information modelling (BIM) solutions for architects, has demonstrated ArchiCAD 22 at the 2018 Conference on Architecture in New York. Its remastered Façade Design workflow in now supports traditional and algorithmic workflows for creative freedom. The renewed curtain wall tool now supports more accurate design and a closer adherence to local requirements for documentation and listing. Expression defined property values, additional workflow improvements, parametric profiles and CineRender engine enhancements have also been made. Graphisoft North America also debuted the trailer for season 2 of its series, “By Design”. This season examines how architects, educators and users have relied on the company’s software to evolve with technological advances. This new season takes a journey with firms that embrace virtual reality, devote resources to future proofing and discover the next frontier of architecture. Anthony Laney also presented The Successful Start-Up Studio. Drawing from personal experience, Laney shared practical tips for new firms to compete against established ones, from how to attract tech-savvy staff needed to stand out to ways to capitalise on BIM-enabled workflows.
