Canon Europe has launched the new Océ ColorWave 3000 series of large format printers for customers specialising in CAD and GIS. The series comprises two different models: the ColorWave 3500 and the 3700, both for businesses operating at mid-volumes. They allow customers the flexibility to print a wide range of applications from black and white technical documents, drawings and maps, to full colour indoor and short-term outdoor graphics. Both printers use Océ TonerPearls, which are melted into a toner gel that crystallises onto the media. Besides ensuring strong adhesion and scratch-resistance, it offers sharp lines with minimal feathering for high quality documents and graphics. These prints are also waterproof, enabling businesses to produce applications for short-term outdoor use. The 3500 model has four-rolls media capacity with automatic media switching, while the 3700 model has a media capacity of up to six rolls and can print up to 368 m² posters per day in fast mode. The printers also come with Océ PAINT, a feature that helps overcome nozzle failure on the fly.
