Process and timelines for Eskom’s RCA applications

The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) has published Eskom’s third multi-year determination (MYPD3) Regulatory Clearing Account (RCA) applications for year 2 (2014/15), year 3 (2015/16) and year 4 (2016/17) totaling R66,6-billion, for public comment. The Regulator will assess Eskom’s RCA applications following due regulatory processes. The indicative timeline for the decision-making process is provided in Table 1, while the dates for the public hearings on the RCA applications are provided in Table 2.

The Regulator welcomes written comments which can be forwarded to, hand-delivered to 526 Madiba Street, Arcadia, Pretoria or posted to PO Box 40343, Arcadia, 0083, Pretoria. The closing date for the submission of comments is 23 March 2018 at 16h00. Members of the public and stakeholders who wish to attend or present their views at any of the public hearings must submit their request to by 15h30 on 19 April 2018. Eskom’s RCA applications are available on the NERSA website at
