What is ELEKTRON?
ELEKTRON - Electronics Journal of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) - is a technical journal published in English eleven times a year serving the electronic engineering community of Southern Africa and SAIEE members in this field.
Mission Statement
ELEKTRON strives to keep readers abreast of technologies, developments, applications and news in the field of electronic engineering, by the publication of original, relevant, high quality articles, from expert authors, and to provide a forum of communication for the electronic engineering community of southern Africa, and for SAIEE members in this field. ELEKTRON strives to be the leading electronic engineering journal in Southern Africa.
Statement of Editorial Policy
ELEKTRON publishes technical and semi-technical articles, by leading experts, that are both relevant and topical in nature, in an easy-to-read format, under the following headings:
- Measurement and Instrumentation
- Electronics - Design, Manufacture, Test and Components
- Telecommunications, Networking and Broadcasting
- Automation and Control
- Computing and Software
ELEKTRON also reports news, events and details of relevance to the electronic engineering community of southern Africa, including industry, company, project, product, technology and people news, views, comment and opinion.
ELEKTRON aims to publish a sound mix of technical, semi-technical and industry news articles, as well as company and product news articles that are more commercial in nature.
ELEKTRON is the winner of the 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 Magazine Publishers Asssociation of South Africa(MPASA) Pica Awards for the best journal in electronic engineering.
