Acquisition expand professional mapping services

Carto has acquired Geographica. Combining forces with will not only strengthen the Carto’s client offering, but also its partner network. According to industry analysts, professional services account for approximately 50% of all business in geospatial, with another 25% being software and 25% location data. However, identifying cutting-edge, customer-centric providers of such consulting services still remains a challenge. Geographica has a track record of delivering complex customisation for enterprise clients with the Carto platform, especially around spatial modelling and machine Learning. A growing number of multinationals need these geospatial skills applied to their business problems, yet there is only so much geospatial talent out there. Geographica has served its enterprise clients by applying location intelligence to different use cases, which is why this acquisition is a strategic one for Carto. In the coming weeks, the company will roll out new services programmes, which will unveil new ways users can leverage its technologies to solve even more complex spatial problems built atop of its platform. The company will be working alongside Geographica’s co-founders, Héctor García and Alberto Asuero and the entire Geographica team. They will join the company from their headquarters in Seville, Spain.
