New high-precision GNSS receivers

Altus Positioning Systems has delivered 20 APS-3U GNSS surveying instruments to TerraView Surveys, a Canadian seismic surveying company. TerraView Surveys provides a wide range of services including project management, seismic line layout and supervision, line cutting supervision, seismic line surveying, pipeline locating, GIS and hazard mapping, and survey data processing. Altus’ Canadian dealer, Butler Survey Supplies, was responsible for the sale and provided extensive technical support and training to TerraView Surveys. The Altus APS-3U receivers are being used with Nautiz NX7 data collectors and MicroSurvey Seismic Surveyor software for seismic surveying and GIS mapping applications. TerraView also uses GPSeismic and GrafNav software for post processing. The Altus APS-3U receivers have greatly improved productivity, especially when working beneath heavy tree cover. The data is far superior to what TerraView was getting previously. Occupation times have decreased, resulting in more production from the crews and reducing the need for post processing data collected in treed areas.
