AMEU Affiliates Golf Day

The AMEU Affiliates Golf Day took place on 3 April 2014 at the Blue Valley Country Club in Midrand. The weather could not have been better, the course was slightly damp but beautiful and the 22 four balls who played enjoyed the day networking with industry colleagues and friends.



At the prize giving dinner ARB Electrical Wholesalers were awarded the Mott MacDonald floating trophy for the winning four ball on the day.  The team comprised of Charl du Preez, Kyle Smit, Never Jim and Bruce Gibson.  The runners up were Medupe Distributors, Quanta Services, Actom and Aman Technologies. Winners for nearest to the pin on hole no. 8 were Fred Visser from Quanta Services and on hole no. 15 was Patrick Wait playing with Aman Technologies. The winner of the longest drive on hole 3 was Andrew Kgampepe from City Power and on hole 13 was Jif van Zyl from Aman Technologies.


The following companies sponsored four balls on the day: ABB, Lucy Electric SA, Powertech Transformers, Quanta Services Africa, Actom, ARB Electrical Wholesalers, Proconics, City Power, Landis & Gyr, Schneider Electric, Zest WEG Group, Aman Technologies, Sectional Poles, Dynatech Information Systems, Malaysian Switchgear Distributors, Hellerman Tyton and Medupe Distributors. Companies who sponsored prizes for the winning four balls were: Hellerman Tyton, Zest, Actom and Powertech Transformers. Companies who sponsored holes were Malaysian Switchgear Distributors, Sectional Poles, Powertech, Lucy Electric SA, Aberdare Cables and Aman Technologies.

A successful day by all accounts and funds raised will go towards staging the exhibition at the AMEU Convention in October this year. The Committee wishes to thank all participants for their support.
