CCG launched the original Captive Component Gland in 1972 on request from South African mining companies to solve problems with cable glands with loose components. Incorrect fitting of cable glands can cause equipment failure, leading to lost production and threatening personnel safety.
The concept of the Captive Component Gland is recognised by other industry sectors such as hazardous petrochemical, oil and gas industries, for its safety advantages over gland designs with loose components. The original CCG design has evolved into a comprehensive range of products. Its simplicity of design means that simple instructions will ensure all the parts are fitted correctly. CCG emphasises user input in design and its “Built-in Safety” policy means engineers worldwide recognise its products for their safety, time and wastage saving. The range covers the majority of cable types and installation applications, and meets the needs of the power generation; railway; oil and gas; petrochemical; pharmaceutical; pulp and paper; industrial; construction and mining industries, among others.
