Further call for papers for Geomatics Indaba 2015

Authors and presenters are invited to submit both peer-reviewed academic papers and general papers for presentation at Geomatics Indaba 2015 which takes place on 11, 12 and 13 August 2015 at Emperors Palace in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng (www.geomatics.org.za). Interested parties are encouraged to submit papers in line with the conference theme of “Developing spatial technologies and skills for strategic infrastructure planning”.

Hosted by South Africa’s professional geospatial bodies, the Geo-Information Society of South Africa (GISSA), the South African Geomatics Institute (SAGI),  and the Institute of Mine Surveyors of Southern Africa (IMSSA), in partnership with EE Publishers, Geomatics Indaba 2015 is South Africa’s premier surveying, geospatial and mapping conference.

Academic paper track

Authors and presenters are invited to submit peer-reviewed academic papers of approximately 5000 words (including tables, figures, and references) for presentation at the Geomatics Indaba 2015 conference. Peer-reviewed academic papers should cover and report on the outputs of theoretical and applied research relevant to the theme, subject matter and target audience of the conference.

Peer-reviewed academic papers for Geomatics Indaba 2015 will be selected on the basis of their merit, significance, relevance, correctness, originality and clarity following a double-blind peer-review process. A selection of papers will be published in the South African Journal of Geomatics (ISSN 2225-8531). A special printed publication of this issue will be included in the delegate bags at the conference.

The Geomatics Indaba 2015 academic papers committee comprises Prof. Gregory Breetzke, Chairperson, (University of South Africa), Dr. Serena Coetzee, (University of Pretoria), Prof. Julian Smit, (University of Cape Town) and Prof. Fred Cawood, University of the Witwatersrand.

Deadline: The submission of full-text academic papers for peer-review closes on 30 April 2015. Academic papers must be submitted using the on-line paper submission system of the South African Journal of Geomatics: Click here 

General paper track

Authors and presenters are invited to submit general papers of approximately 3000 to 4000 words for presentation at Geomatics Indaba 2015, and these will be published in the Geomatics Indaba 2015 conference proceedings. General papers should be relevant to the theme, subject matter and target audience of the conference, and should aim to serve the needs of readers and conference delegates, provide appropriate solutions, and share knowledge and experience.

Deadline: Abstracts for general papers need to be submitted by 30 April 2015 in order to be eligible for selection. Abstracts for general papers must be submitted using the on-line paper submission system of the Geomatics Indaba 2015 conference. Click here

Presenters of both academic and general papers (i.e. one person per paper presented) may attend the conference on the day of their presentation at no cost.
