Esri released AppStudio for ArcGIS version 4.0 with new features, enhancements, and bug fixes to help users create cross-platform native apps easier and faster. Highlights of this release include new licensing options, a 3D Scene Viewer template; support for opening web apps with the AppStudio Player Enterprise template; as well as an upgraded bundled Qt Creator and the underlying Qt framework, and ArcGIS Runtime upgrade to version 100.6. ArcGIS users with Creator or GIS Professional licences now have access to AppStudio Desktop. The AppStudio web-based app building tools have been retired, and all users will now need to use Desktop to configure, customise and create new apps. Some licence names and levels have also been renamed, and AppStudio Desktop now works with all AppStudio license levels. All license levels can create new apps based on samples or templates. This release also brings a new configurable 3D Scene Viewer, which includes the ability to view web scenes, download and view offline mobile scene packages (MSPKs), open bookmarks, switch between 2D/3D mode, and sign in to ArcGIS Online or Enterprise to view secured contents. AppStudio Desktop now has new layouts, samples, and enterprise templates. AppStudio 4.0 rolls out a new Animated Content Layout, allowing navigation through content with smooth animations.
