Fugro has signed up to the Roadmap for Human Cities, a long-term initiative to transform water infrastructure investments in large-scale urban development projects. Together with other major players in the Dutch water infrastructure sector, Fugro agreed to a memorandum of understanding at the Amsterdam International Water Week Conference. Formulated by the Human Cities Coalition (HCC), a Dutch public-private partnership dedicated to making cities more sustainable, inclusive and resilient, the memorandum sets out an action agenda for inclusive urban development. As one of HCC’s core initiatives, the Roadmap for Human Cities will draw on the signatories’ expertise to develop solutions to urgent urban issues. As a provider of geo-intelligence and asset integrity solutions for infrastructure, natural resources and large constructions, Fugro will contribute its expertise in site characterisation, subsidence monitoring and mapping. The memorandum will remain valid for eighteen months and Fugro, together with the other signatories, will share knowledge and expertise to develop a collective vision and action plan. Progress will be reported during the 2019 Amsterdam International Water Week, where the HCC expects to announce the next steps on the agenda.
