Competition seeks satellite solutions for sustainability goals

In 2018 Planet participated in the Copernicus Masters competition as the host of the Planet Daily Change Challenge for start-ups and others to leverage earth observation data. The company will again this year be participating in the competition and announced it ”See Change, Change the World” challenge. It will focus on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), seventeen global goals which guide the world’s sustainable development efforts through 2030. As a company that is strongly committed to the SDGs, it will looking for solutions that combine Planet satellite imagery with additional data sources to develop solutions that will help them reach these collective goals. All submissions will be evaluated against a number of criteria and should have a strong technical underpinning, and be feasible and achievable. With help from Planet, the winner of the challenge will then finalise the solution and bring it to market, receiving six months of free access​ to ​the satellite company’s data, business and technical support, and a trip to its customer conference.
