abbABB has identified specific characteristics in moulded-case circuit breakers for the most common installations. A protection trip unit which has fixed thermal and magnetic threshold values and easy assembly combined with the most popular accessories and a streamlined range catering for only the most popular current rating ensure that the Formula range of moulded case circuit breakers provides an advantage. The range covers three frame sizes with current rating from 15 A catering for single and two pole up to 250 A, while three and four pole circuit breakers cater for current ratings up to 630 A. Key design aspects include the range’s suitablility for both AC and DC applications and installation in 50ºC environments without derating. This flexibility is enhanced by the flexible range of accessories including optional DIN rail mounting adaptors, undervoltage coils, auxiliary contacts, connection terminal options and rotary handles. Simplified circuit breaker selection for the application and easy installation of both the circuit breaker and accessories reduce installation time and the danger of incorrect selection. Drawing on decades’ experience in the design and manufacture of circuit breakers the range provides installers with an undeniable advantage.
