ECA Bosveld Region hosts charity golf day

The ECA (SA) Bosveld Region hosted its annual golf day in April at the Irene Golf and Country Club, Gauteng. A total of 128 players in 32 teams competed on a four-ball alliance with two scores to count. The teams included ECA members and their clients. The golf day was presented in co-operation with EE Publishers and the proceeds will benefit an as-yet undisclosed charity.

The day on the course was followed by a buffet dinner at the clubhouse, where a prize-giving and several lucky draws took place. The prizes, which were sponsored by ECA members and other industry players, included tool and wiring kits, golf bags, portable television sets and a microwave oven. A sports memorabilia auction was also on the evening’s agenda. ECA past president Dirk Engelbrecht acted as master of ceremonies for the evening. The prizes for first, second and third four-ball were awarded to Voltex, Voltex LSis Prop and and Eurolux respectively. Neville Fraser and Claude Middelton earned the “closest-to-the-pin” accolade for the day, for pins 7 and 13. The accolade for the longest drives went to to Rudi Potgieter (hole 9) and Neville Fraser (hole 17). The ECA Bosveld Region team was voted the best-dressed team while team Voltex LSis Prop team earned the “best-dressed sponsors” award.
