Speaking at the opening of the AfricaGEO 2014 conference, the deputy minister of Rural Development and Land Reform, Mcebisi Skwatsha, called on the assembled delegates to support the government in its efforts to make effective use of South Africa’s land and other resources.  The conference which took place from 1 to 4 July 2014 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in Cape Town was attended by almost six hundred delegates, and 180 exhibitors participated in the sold-out exhibition which featured the latest technology and equipment for the geospatial sector.
