Geoinformation for assisting Namibian property development

The iGlobe Group has developed a solution which combines GIS tools and drone technology for property management. The solution, Property Development Management Systems (PDMS), is planned to assist in a project in Namibia – from the initial designing process up to the day-to-day sales tasks of estate agents. The project is estimated to cover an area of more than 12 000 stands. Objectives of this project are to create an integrated geographical information solution that would eliminate duplication (therefore reducing time and costs), as well as manage all documentation and parties involved. Property status and future trends can be predicted using this solution. A web portal makes data sharing possible as project, technical and management teams are not at the same location. The project reduces paperwork using the storing and archiving capabilities of Bentley Systems’ ProjectWise software. Aerial imagery assists engineers in the ground work planning process and to identifying mistakes when overlaying drawings. The project area in Namibia has been developed over the last ten years to cater for housing needs, and this solution will assist with future improvements.
