The NSTF-BHP Billiton Awards encourage and reward excellence in scientific research, education, capacity building, management, communication and in technological innovation by publicly honouring and celebrating outstanding contributions to science, engineering, technology and innovation (SETI) in South Africa. These are the longest-standing awards for SETI in South Africa, and have been hosted since 1998 by the National Science and Technology Forum, a non-profit organisation. The National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF) is calling for nominations for these awards under nine categories. Submit nominations for your ideal scientist, researcher, engineer, technologist, innovator, manager or communication specialist no later than 12h00 on
7 March 2014. Some of the awards categories provide winners with research grants made possible through the support of sponsors such as the National Research Foundation and Eskom.
