New high-performance drone enters SA market

SkyProwler 2 is the second generation of the professional-grade high-performance multi-mission vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) Transformer unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). It takes off like a multicopter, picks up speed using its high-powered thruster, and then transitions to winged cruise flight. The multirotor take-off mechanism folds away in-flight giving the craft efficient aerodynamics and speed, endurance and range far better than most pure copters and on-par with pure fixed-wings. Some missions require maximum hover time and tight turns in addition to great bursts of speed, including filming applications. For this the SkyProwler 2 can be reconfigured by taking the wings off, without needing special tools. The Eye Cam 4K 3D stabilised upgrade allows for quick lens changes, e.g. changing from a more wide angle, to a more zoomed lens. The automatic cargo drop door module can replace the bottom plate of the cargo compartment and allows for the drop of cargo in mid-flight. It can carry a payload of 500 to 600 g, depending on its configuration. Furthermore, it can fly in 24 kph crosswind (VTOL), otherwise 35 kph, even in light rain. The craft also has a diverse temperature operation range of -15ºC to 50 ºC (check battery condition, especially in very cold weather).
