Riegl Laser Systems has launched and showcased an extensive range of waveform lidar products at this year’s InterGEO in Stuttgart, Germany. Its new VQ-780II and VQ-1560II airborne laser scanning systems (with a pulse repetition rate of 2 MHz and 4 MHz respectively) increases productivity for both high-point-density mapping and ultra-wide-area mapping. Furthermore, the VP-1 Helicopter Pod is now available with the fully integrated VUX-240 airborne laser scanner, providing up to 1,5-million measurements per second and suited for applications like corridor mapping. The company added the miniVUX-2UAV UAV-based lidar sensor to its portfolio, which offers 100 kHz and 200 kHz laser PRR. Then there’s also the VQ-840-G Topo-Bathymetric airborne laser scanner with a high spatial resolution (200 kHz) and a selectable laser beam divergence. Optionally complemented by an IMU/GNSS system and a camera or an IR rangefinder, this fully integrated system for coastline and shallow water mapping is ready for use on aircraft platforms including UAVs. Also new launched is the VZ-i-20M industrial camera, VZ-i GNSS RTK receiver for the VZ-i series laser scanners, and add-on rechargeable Li-ion battery, the RBLI 2900, which includes three individually removable battery packs (hot swap capable) for improved scanner usability.
