Relays to eliminate pump motor damage

Pumps are indispensable in mining, petroleum recovery, pipelines, refining and many manufacturing operations, therefore any failure can cause costly, unscheduled downtime. A pump and drive motor can fail in other ways, including pumps running dry and jammed pumps causing the motor to overload, which can lead to catastrophic damage to the motor and other electrical system problems. Newelec’s KA, KB and KC series of electronic motor protection and control relays protect LV pump motors against running dry, jamming of the motor, locked rotor, overcurrent, incorrect phase sequence, phase failure, and over and undervoltage. The relays are microprocessor-based and are housed in a small footprint, DIN rail mount. The KA relay is a mains powered, auto-selecting 400 or 525 V supply, while the KB and KC relays require either 110 or 220 V AC auxiliary supplies. The relays are available in the range from 0,5 to 50 A direct through the current transformer module block, and in the range from 50 A to 200 A using external current transformers in xxx:5 ratio.
