Gexcel introduced the Heron AC-2 Color, an improved version of its AC-2, designed for customers who need to integrate their point cloud models with images from a 360° panoramic camera. Beside the professional indoor/outdoor 3D real-time mapping, localisation and change detection capabilities, it allows users to add a photographic survey. This feature can speed up the object identification process. The system maintains its processor’s 2 cm local accuracy and an estimated global accuracy of 5 cm, as well as the possibility to register a high-res scans on the Heron point cloud. Like the AC-2 model, it does not require GPS/GNSS antennas, targets, trolleys or frequent calibrations procedures and can be used in any condition. The scanner’s new full HD 360° panoramic camera makes well suited to digitally document, collect and geo-reference large dataset and information in indoor environments for applications such as facility management, underground mines, geospatial applications, digital 3D documentation, digital twins for remote planning and project, and revamping projects of industrial plants. It is also integrated with OrbitGT packages.
