Please complete and submit the form below to apply to be accredited and to attend the initial, physical (face-to-face), establishing meeting of the Ministerial Renewable Energy Sector Engagement Forum, on Thursday 16 July 2020 from 10 am to 4 pm in Johannesburg.

Once you have been accredited and accepted to attend the meeting, you will receive a confirmation email indicating this, together with a map to the venue, COVID-19 safety instructions, and the programme.

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

Please note that, in line with COVID-19 regulations, only 50 persons (maximum) will be accredited to attend this face-to-face meeting with the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, and stringent COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place, in compliance with the law and applicable regulations for such meetings.

The purpose of the initial meeting and webinar is to facilitate the establishment of an ongoing Ministerial Engagement Forum with the Renewable Energy (RE) sector in South Africa.

This initial meeting will focus on posture, form and process that builds trust through acceptance of good faith between the Minister’s team and RE sector participants, leading to an ongoing engagement forum for the Minister and the RE sector.

It is hoped that the initial establishing meeting/webinar will result in agreement on a drafting sub-committee to prepare an agenda and discussion paper for matters to be addressed at the second and further ongoing engagements.

It is expected that further ongoing engagements with the Minister will be conducted by a smaller and more focussed Forum that is legitimate and representative of the RE sector in South Africa, and will focus on the substance of RE delivery issues going forward.
