The Endress+Hauser Group increased its net sales by approximately 7% to over €1,8-billion in the 2013 financial year. In terms of operating profit, profit before taxes and net income, the company also showed an improvement on the previous year. Above all, the currencies of the emerging countries and Japan plunged in value against the euro. Endress+Hauser will present the detailed annual report at a media conference in Basel on 6 May 2014. The group’s consolidated results have been influenced by various acquisitions. At the end of September 2013 they took over control of the publicly-traded German laboratory analysis equipment specialist AnalytikJena. In January 2013 the group acquired its former representative in Indonesia, and in November they completed the takeover of US-based Kaiser Optical Systems, a manufacturer of instruments for Raman spectroscopy. Without these acquisitions the group would have only grown by about 5% in 2013.
