Schneider Electric’s UPSes guarantee power protection for connected electronics. When selecting a UPS, electronics have both maximum watt VA (volt-ampere) ratings. Neither rating may be exceeded by attached equipment. Watts measure real power drawn by the equipment, while volt-amps are the product of the voltage applied to the equipment multiplied by the current drawn by the equipment. Schneider Electric offers the following features on its range of APC UPS, divided into three categories, basic, enhanced, and advanced. “Basic” features user-replaceable batteries; surge-only outlets; building wiring fault indicator and transformer-block spaced outlets and automatic self-test. “Enhanced” involves automatic voltage regulation; pure sine-wave output on battery; SmartSlot; scalable runtime and power conditioning. “Advanced” features adjustable voltage transfer points; temperature-compensated battery charging; intelligent battery management; predictive failure notifications and plug-and-play external batteries.
