According to Renewable Energy World (www.renewableenergyworld.com), two of California’s state parks have received new public charging infrastructure which offers electric vehicle owners the ability to charge up on solar power.

Envision Solar International is quoted as saying that it has delivered its EV ARC solar-powered charging stations to two parks under the jurisdiction of the California Department of Parks and Recreation. These EV ARC stations are now available at the Granite Bay Main Beach in central California and Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in Southern California. The company previously installed EV ARC stations for public charging at the Natural Bridges States Park in Santa Cruz.

Apparently, the new installations are in remote areas, and the chargers include battery storage so that they can operate at night. The station generates enough electricity to power up to 360 km of EV driving in a day.
