Cummins South Africa recently held a sod-turning ceremony at its new premises in Midrand. The company plans to build a modern facility in the Waterfall Logistics Precinct. Speaking at the ceremony, the company’s MD, Thierry Pimi, said that relocation to the new premises is of critical importance to the company as it positions itself at what he called the epicentre of Guateng’s most dynamic and strategically located business hub. The new premises, which are said to cover approximately 15 355 m2, will include the company’s Southern Africa regional operations, its master rebuild centre, and the company’s training centre. The company’s current Longmeadow branch will also move to the new site. Pimi said the new facility will include offices, workshops and a warehouse, all designed to accommodate different preferred work styles of employees, in line with the company’s office standards, to ensure the space and tools needed for maximum productivity. The facility is expected to open in October 2018.
