Transducer for measuring inclination angles

Gossen Metrawatt has launched a measuring transducer for measuring inclination angles. The Kinax N702 converts the tilt angle into a direct current signal, proportional to the angle. Tilt angle values of a platform e.g. on cranes, heavy-duty vehicles, excavators and drilling machines, ships and offshore facilities stand for important measuring data as a part of the safety and control system of that type of machinery. Angular measurement, e.g. for equipment leveling, is performed in such cases. This transducer can also be used to measure the angular position of a crane jib; the lateral inclination of a vehicle; the orientation of a lifting platform; weir trap or comparable facilities. Measuring range, sense of rotation and zero position, sense of rotation and zero position function are programmed directly in this device. The output signal, representing the tilt angle, is provided either in form of a current or voltage variation. Packaging is also durable as the transmitter is inside a robust splash-proof aluminum case with enclosure protection IP66.
