When purchasing a new clamp meter, look for one with an amperage rating and category matching your needs. Modern clamp meters are designed to meet IEC 61010-1 and must clearly mark all the category information and the max voltage rating. Major Tech’s clamp meter range includes CATIV, 600 V-rated clamps with NCV, and ranges from high resolution DC mA measurement for process loops to 3000 A AC for heavy industry. These clamp meters are available in AC/DC, true RMS and average reading. The range includes various jaw sizes: a 6 mm process current clamp, a 10 mm open-jaw clamp, and a 150 mm flexi clamp. Major Tech’s MT750 is a slimeline AC clamp meter which measures AC current to 1000 A, including measurements such as ACV, DCV resistance, and features a continuity buzzer. It is designed, manufactured and tested according to IEC 61010, and features a teardrop-shaped jaw for crowded cable areas.
