On 1 April 2016, the Highveld branch handed over training stipends from the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) to the value of some R53 580. The recipients were electrical contracting companies Funganani Electrical and Immelman Electrical. Speaking at the event, ECA(SA) national directior Mark Mfikoe noted that the handover of the funds was a “milestone” for industry training. The stipend money is meant to subsidise the employment of trainees. ECA president Johnny Cunniff thanked the recipients for the training they provide to their employees and apprentices. Funganani Electrical received an amount of R36 000 while R17 584 was handed over to Immelman Electrical.
