hamatsu_055-07-2014Hamamatsu Photonics has introduced the new G11777-003P InGaAs PIN photodiode, an ultra-compact near infrared detector available in a surface mount COB (chip on board) package. Compared to a conventional metal packaged detector, the size of the G11777-003P is drastically reduced, whilst still maintaining a 0,3 mm diameter active area. Package dimensions are 0,8 x 1,6 x 0,8 mm. The new PIN photodiode features a spectral response range of 0,9 to 1,7 µm with peak sensitivity at 1,55 µm, and delivers high sensitivity with low noise characteristics. With a high-speed response of 500MHz, this photodiode is ideal for optical communication applications, as well as general NIR measurement and light level monitoring.
