Unit 2 of Rooppur NPP achieves concrete milestone

A concrete work milestone has been reached at the Rooppur nuclear power plant’s (NPP’s) Unit 2 construction project. This week saw the completion of concrete works for the Unit 2 of Rooppur NPP (Bangladesh) turbine hall foundation slab, said Rosatom. The slab structure contains 3782 t of rebar and 23 550 m3 of concrete.

Sergey Lastochkin, the vice  president of Rosatom’s engineering division, ASE, says the Rooppur NPP construction project says this is an important stage of construction and will be followed by the preparation for the erection of the walls of the turbine hall for Unit 2. The specialists employed at the construction site for Bangladesh’s first NPP have commenced the preparations for the next phase of construction. The work at the Rooppur construction site is said to be on schedule.
