South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers’ Procurement Programme (REIPPPP), demonstrates the country’s commitment to a more sustainable future growth path. The State’s support of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures simultaneously aims to encourage skills development and stimulate job creation.

The Windaba conference and exhibition (8 – 9 October 2019, CTICC, Cape Town) under the theme “Unleashing renewable power for African economic development”, will host a session contextualising skills development against the backdrop of the global energy transition. More than 75% of South Africa’s primary energy requirement is currently derived from fossil fuels and the procurement of renewable power presents several opportunities including the diversification of our energy mix. Through robust skills development programmes the wind energy sector aims to grow the economy domestically and on the continent.

Don’t miss your opportunity to hear from industry leaders who will share their insights on global shifts, opportunities and challenges pertaining to skill development for the wind sector.
