Women in electricity graphicThe Association of Municipal Electrical Utilities (AMEU) is proud to be launching Women in Electricity, a new initiative aimed at women to become a critical mass in the electricity generation and distribution sector. The launch is set to take place on 3 August 2015 at the ICC in Durban and is absolutely free.

This invitation extends to all women holding senior positions such as head of departments, executive directors, directors, deputy directors, general managers, managers, chief engineers, senior engineers, professional engineers, engineers, engineering consultants and engineering technicians.

Our guest speakers include:

  • Sy Gourrah, an electrical engineer at Actom Power Systems, and an advisor to the Deputy President on the Eskom turnaround strategy
  • Canninah Mapena, the director for Energy Business at Schneider Electric
  • Phindile Baleni, Director General, office of the Premier, Gauteng Province
