energy-training-foundation-257-03-2014The Energy Training Foundation (EnTF) presented its “Energy management system implementation” (EnMSI) training and workshop to members of the Airports Company of South Africa’s (ACSA’s) technical and engineering team, all of whom are responsible for reducing the company’s energy consumption by means of an energy management system. ACSA has already embarked on a number of energy efficiency projects at a number of airports. Extensive lighting upgrades to LED technology at most runways of the regional airports, as well as other lighting system improvements, have already delivered energy savings of at least 15% and the company will now focus on further energy saving projects and on ensuring the sustainability of these initiatives. These savings are achieved by following a properly implemented energy management system in accordance with ISO50001 energy management system standard. The three-day workshop takes the format of the EnTF’s energy management system implementation (EnMSI) training course, together with a consulting service coupled with a delivery module which provides delegates with a skeleton roadmap facilitating the development of an energy saving policy.
