Motor supply contract renewed

Sasol has contracted Zest Electric Motors, part of the Zest WEG Group, for the supply of low voltage electric motors. Gary Daines, the company’s director for sales and marketing, said that the contract covers Sasol’s sites in Sasolburg and Secunda, as well as Sasol Mining and includes products developed to meet the specific needs of its different environments, including flameproof motors for underground mining. The company has also supplied medium voltage motors and variable speed drives over the same period. Since these motors are for a petrochemical application, the certification of the  products for hazardous areas meets international standards. Product development has taken place in conjunction with the client, that the range now exceeds these world standards. As a result of this certification, it has been able to supply other companies with this combination for hazardous environments. As the client becomes a global player in the petrochemical industry, the company’s products are being used increasingly in their global operations.
